Job Description:
We are looking for an experienced Electrical Commissioning Engineer to carry out programming, testing, commissioning, and handover of electrical systems for our projects. The role requires strong technical expertise, hands-on commissioning experience, and leadership skills to ensure systems are delivered safely, on time, and in full compliance with project and client requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, execute, and supervise commissioning of electrical systems (22kV switchgear, transformers, protection relays, hipot, and related equipment).
- Prepare, review, and maintain all commissioning documentation, including client submissions.
- Supervise and monitor defined test procedures, start-up sequences, reliability runs, and performance tests.
- Oversee functional and operational tests to prepare equipment for first start-up.
- Manage and guide commissioning technicians during live equipment testing, ensuring strict adherence to safety.
- Ensure QA/QC integration within commissioning processes and procedures.
- Witness and support Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) with contractors as required.
- Prepare inspection reports, certificates, progress reports, and site correspondence.
- Liaise with client QA/QC and testing teams to ensure smooth execution.
- Generate MSCRs (Maintenance System Change Requests) during project handover.
- Ensure commissioning acceptance criteria align with design specifications and client requirements.
- Carry out other duties assigned by the Commissioning Manager.
Requirements:
- Diploma/Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- 3-5 years of hands-on commissioning experience in power plants, substations, industrial, or large infrastructure projects.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems testing and commissioning tools.
- Familiarity with international standards (IEC, IEEE, NEC) and safety procedures.
- Ability to interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and technical documents.
- Good leadership, coordination, and communication skills.
- Willingness to travel and work at project sites.
