Job Scope of a Machine Technician
1. Installation
- Set up and install machinery or mechanical systems.
- Assemble parts and components based on technical drawings or manuals.
- Test newly installed equipment to ensure proper function.
2. Maintenance
- Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines.
- Inspect mechanical systems for wear and tear, leaks, or damage.
- Lubricate, clean, and calibrate machines to ensure optimal performance.
3. Troubleshooting and Repair
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and minor electrical issues.
- Replace or repair faulty components like motors, bearings, belts, and gears.
- Use diagnostic tools, manuals, and schematics to identify problems.
4. Documentation and Reporting
- Keep records of maintenance, repairs, and machine performance.
- Report major issues to supervisors or engineers.
- Follow standard operating procedures and safety guidelines.
5. Communication and Coordination
- Provide feedback for improvements in machine design or maintenance procedures.
