Role Overview
The Eldercare Programme Executive (Aftercare Services) supports elderly members and their families by coordinating funeral and memorial services with professionalism, dignity, and compassion. The role involves case coordination, documentation, stakeholder liaison, and operational support within an eldercare and social service environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate service arrangements for deceased elderly members by liaising closely with families, vendors, and internal teams to ensure smooth and respectful handling of all arrangements
- Guide families through the process, providing clear information and practical assistance during a difficult time
- Offer empathetic support to families, within organisational guidelines
- Support the planning, coordination, and on‑site execution of memorial services and remembrance events
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records for reporting and compliance
- Participate in a rotating hotline duty roster, responding to enquiries and providing timely support
- Support and guide junior staff or volunteers to ensure smooth operations
- Suggest practical improvements to workflows and service delivery
- Conduct outreach to hospitals, nursing homes, and community partners to introduce services and build referral networks
- Assist with administrative tasks and other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Diploma in Social Work or a related discipline (or equivalent relevant experience)
- At least two years of relevant experience in social services, eldercare, healthcare, or related fields
- Ability to use standard software applications for documentation, case recording, and reporting
- Valid Class 3 driving licence, as the role may require travel between service locations and external venues
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in emotionally sensitive situations
Preferred Experience and Skills
- Experience working in Social Service Agencies (SSAs) or Voluntary Welfare Organisations (VWOs)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage sensitively with families and stakeholders
- Proficiency in spoken and written English
- Proficiency in Mandarin would be an advantage, as the role may involve supporting families who are more comfortable communicating in Mandarin
