About the Role
A globally respected pharmaceutical organization is seeking a proactive and experienced EHS Engineer to support its Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) operations. This role is critical in maintaining compliance with regulatory and internal standards, driving safety culture, and supporting sustainability initiatives across the site.
Key Responsibilities
Compliance & Risk Management
- Maintain and enhance EHS management systems in alignment with ISO14001 and ISO45001 standards
- Advise on legal and corporate EHS compliance requirements
- Conduct regular inspections and audits of manufacturing and facility operations
- Support accident investigations, including root cause analysis and corrective actions
Safety Culture & Training
- Implement programs to promote a proactive EHS culture across departments
- Coordinate and lead emergency response drills and health & safety training sessions
- Assist in developing site strategies to prevent catastrophic incidents and ensure process safety systems are in place
Technical Leadership & Collaboration
- Participate in Process Hazard Analysis (HAZOP/What-if) and Risk Assessments may serve as PHA Leader
- Lead or support EHS improvement projects and sustainability initiatives
- Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, and Engineering teams on EHS matters
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in EHS within a pharmaceutical or manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of ISO14001, ISO45001, and local EHS regulations
- Registered Workplace Safety & Health Officer and Fire Safety Manager certification preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
Preferred Skills
- Experience in process safety management and risk mitigation
- Familiarity with EHS software systems and reporting tools
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive compliance initiatives.
