We are looking for a passionate and experienced Economics Teacher / Head of Economics to join our professional team. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching IB, A-Level, and IGCSE Economics, with opportunities to take on a leadership role in curriculum development and teacher training.

Job Scope

  • Teaching & Tutoring:
    Conduct high-quality one-on-one and small group tutoring sessions for students (aged 13-18), focusing on IB, A-Level, and IGCSE Economics/Enterprice/Business Management.
    Customise lesson plans and teaching strategies to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
    Regularly assess students progress and provide timely, constructive feedback to help them build a strong foundation in Economics.
  • Curriculum Development:
    Design, update, and refine lesson materials and the curriculum based on the latest syllabi for IB, A-Level, and IGCSE.
    Create innovative teaching resources, including lecture notes, practice questions, and mock exams, to enhance learning effectiveness.
  • Head of Department Responsibilities (if applicable):
    Lead and manage the Economics teaching team, providing new teacher onboarding and professional development training.
    Organise and lead regular academic meetings to share best practices and discuss teaching strategies to improve team standards.

Requirements

  • Education & Experience:
    Bachelor's degree or higher in Economics or a related field.
    Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience in IB, A-Level, or IGCSE Economics, either in Singapore or internationally.
    Prior experience teaching in a tuition centre is highly preferred.
  • Professional Skills & Attributes:
    Deep understanding of the curriculum, examination requirements, and grading criteria for IB, A-Level, and IGCSE Economics.
    Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
    Proven ability in curriculum design and the development of educational materials.
    Experience in team management or teacher training is a plus.
  • Language Proficiency:
  • Fluent in both English and Chinese (written and spoken) to effectively communicate with students and parents from diverse linguistic backgrounds.
  • Others:
    A strong passion for education, with a high degree of responsibility and professionalism.
    Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
