Metta Welfare Association (Metta), established in 1992, provides a comprehensive range of social, medical, and educational programs to support individuals across all life stages. These services include early intervention for young children with special needs, care for adults with intellectual disabilities, elderly day rehabilitation, and palliative care for individuals with life-limiting illnesses. Metta also offers youth employment support, empowering individuals with training and life skills to enhance independence and integration into society. In the financial year 2021/2022, Metta served 1,360 individuals, conducted over 34,000 early intervention hours, and raised significant funds to support its community initiatives. Metta fosters a commitment to inclusivity and making a meaningful impact on the lives of those in need.

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role located in Punggol for an Early Interventionist. Key responsibilities include planning and implementing individualized educational plans for young children with special needs, supporting their developmental goals in areas such as communication, social interaction, motor skills, and learning. The Early Interventionist will work closely with parents, caregivers, and a multidisciplinary team to monitor progress and adapt teaching methods as required. Additional responsibilities may include conducting regular assessments and contributing to case discussions to ensure the well-being and growth of the children under their care.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge or experience in Applied Behavior Analysis, Behavioral Intervention, and Psychology.
  • Proficiency in Communication and Education, with the ability to engage and support children effectively.
  • A background in designing and implementing early intervention or special education programs is an advantage.
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills to work effectively with families, caregivers, and professional teams.
  • Relevant educational qualification, such as a degree or certification in Early Childhood Education, Psychology, Special Education, or a related field.
  • Patience, empathy, and a passion for working with young children with special needs.
  • Knowledge in ECHO Framework is an advantage
