Description
As a Software Engineer on the Employee Engagement & Engineering (EEE) team, you will contribute to the development of native macOS, iOS, and iPadOS applications that Apple employees use every day. Working in Swift and SwiftUI, you will build features that are polished, accessible, and thoughtfully integrated with AI capabilities and platform services. You will grow your skills under the guidance of senior engineers while taking ownership of well-scoped tasks and delivering quality work.
This is an opportunity to build strong foundations in native Apple-platform development within a small, globally distributed team where your contributions are visible and your growth is supported. You will work across the full feature lifecycle — from implementation through testing and deployment — and develop a deep understanding of what makes an application feel great.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain native application features in Swift and SwiftUI for macOS, iOS, and iPadOS
- Implement UI components and interactions that meet Apple's quality bar for accessibility, performance, and polish
- Integrate with platform services, system frameworks, and REST APIs to deliver connected experiences
- Write thorough unit and integration tests; contribute to the team's culture of engineering quality
- Participate in code reviews — giving and receiving constructive feedback to improve code and grow as an engineer
- Investigate and resolve bugs; contribute to improving application reliability and user experience
- Collaborate with designers, product managers, and senior engineers to understand requirements and deliver features
- Document your work clearly — code comments, technical notes, and design decisions
Minimum Qualifications
- Proficiency in Swift with working knowledge of SwiftUI
- Understanding of iOS/macOS application architecture patterns (MVC, MVVM, or similar)
- Familiarity with Apple platform frameworks (UIKit or AppKit, Combine, or Swift Concurrency)
- Experience with version control (Git) and collaborative development workflows
- B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience shipping production applications on the App Store or for enterprise distribution
- Familiarity with accessibility APIs and inclusive design practices
- Exposure to AI/ML integration in applications (Core ML, on-device inference, or LLM APIs)
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing for Apple platforms
- Familiarity with RESTful API integration and data persistence patterns (SwiftData, Core Data)
