A reputable international school with a rich heritage is seeking a Head of English as an Additional Language (EAL) to lead and shape its EAL provision across the school.
This is a hands-on leadership role with a whole-school remit, covering both primary and secondary, focused on ensuring students are effectively supported to access the academic curriculum while building strong English language proficiency.
Responsibilities
Reporting to the senior academic leadership team, you will oversee the design, delivery and continuous development of the EAL programme across the school. This includes developing curriculum frameworks and schemes of work, establishing assessment and tracking systems, and implementing targeted intervention strategies to support student progress.
A key aspect of the role involves working closely with mainstream teachers to embed effective EAL strategies into classroom practice, including supporting differentiation and language development across subjects.
Requirements
You will bring experience in EAL within an international school setting, and ideally in South East Asia (SEA). You should demonstrate experience in at least some of the following: curriculum design, assessment frameworks, and supporting or training teachers in working with multilingual learners.
This role is well suited to candidates with EAL leadership experience, whether currently operating at Lead, Coordinator or Head level, who are looking to take on a broader, whole-school remit.
