Job Description

We are seeking an E&I Specialist for our client in the petrochemical industry to provide technical expertise, perform hands-on maintenance, and coordinate maintenance activities related to electrical, instrumentation, and control systems within a plant environment. This role ensures the timely and effective execution of scheduled tasks, emergency repairs, preventive maintenance, reactive maintenance, and shutdown activities, while adhering to strict health, safety, and environmental standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert technical support for failures related to electrical, instrumentation, control systems, and analyzer equipment.
  • Enforce adherence to safety protocols, including Lockout/Tagout, isolation procedures, and electrical safety regulations, throughout all maintenance operations, from initial planning to execution.

  • Identify and resolve recurring equipment problems by implementing reliability-focused solutions.

  • Develop, review, and refine preventive, corrective, and condition-based maintenance strategies for E&I assets.

  • Execute reliability-driven maintenance and troubleshoot issues related to motors, drives, switchgears, LV/MV distributions, circuit breakers, variable frequency drives, transformers, motor control centers, uninterruptible power supplies, sensors, control valves, PLC/DCS systems, analyzers, quality measurement equipment, site fire alarms, facility equipment, and field instruments.

  • Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards, including grounding, insulation resistance, safety instrumented function (SIF)/safety integrity level (SIL) verification, and equipment integrity checks. Conduct regular inspections in accordance with regulatory requirements and internal maintenance standards.

  • Supervise and participate in hands-on E&I work during shutdowns, start-ups, and daily maintenance activities, working alongside the plant's E&I technicians.

  • Ensure safety, monitor and report plant availability, and oversee the health of plant E&I systems.

  • Maintain detailed records of maintenance history, calibration data, and service reports. Prepare daily and weekly maintenance reports and accurately record data in the SAP work process.

  • Participate in Root Cause Analysis and failure analysis, and implement changes based on the findings.

  • Demonstrate competency in Management of Change processes and spare parts management.

  • Undertake any other tasks and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements:

  • At least 5 years of experience in Instrumentation or Electrical Engineering within a specialty chemical or petrochemical manufacturing facility

  • In-depth knowledge of PLC/DCS systems, analyzers, and field instruments.

  • Familiarity with SAP, MS Office, and OEM software.

  • Experience with predictive maintenance tools and reliability methodologies.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

  • Strong soft skills and experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems
