Overview
NES Fircroft is supporting a leading global engineering company in Singapore to hire a Structural Engineer to support the design and delivery of E-House (modular substation) projects.
This role focuses on the structural design, analysis, and coordination of prefabricated E-House modules used in power transmission, substations, and industrial infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform structural design and analysis of E-House modules, including steel frames, base skids, and support structures
- Develop and review 3D structural models using software such as STAAD Pro, SAP2000, or SACS
- Apply and evaluate critical load cases including:Lifting and crane operationsTransportation and load-out conditionsEquipment and operational loadsEnvironmental loads (wind, seismic where applicable)
- Ensure structural integrity, stability, and compliance with design codes (Eurocode, AISC, DNV, project specifications)
- Review vendor drawings, calculations, and design submissions to ensure technical compliance
- Perform design checks on structural elements including beams, columns, connections, and padeyes
- Coordinate with electrical, mechanical, and layout teams to ensure proper integration of equipment within E-House modules
- Support fabrication activities by ensuring constructability and alignment with yard practices
- Prepare and review engineering documentation including calculation reports, design basis, and technical specifications
- Identify and resolve design issues, deviations, and technical risks
Requirements
- Degree in Civil / Structural Engineering or equivalent
- 5-8 years of experience in structural design within power, oil & gas, or industrial projects
- Strong experience in steel structural design and modular structures
- Prior experience working on E-House, skids, or modular equipment structures is highly preferred
- Hands-on experience with structural analysis tools such as STAAD Pro, SAP2000, or SACS
- Good understanding of:Lifting analysis and padeye designTransportation and load-out analysisStructural load paths and deflection control
- Familiarity with international design standards (Eurocode, AISC, DNV)
- Experience working with fabrication yards or modular construction environments is advantageous
- Strong coordination skills across multi-disciplinary engineering teams
