Job Description

Are you passionate about contributing to meaningful population health research that can shape the future of healthcare in Singapore and beyond Join our team at Singapore Population Health Studies (SPHS) a large-scale initiative investigating how lifestyle, physiology, genetics and other biological factors influence health and longevity among Singaporeans.

At SPHS, we're building one of the most comprehensive population health research biobanks in Asia, involving over 50,000 participants across Singapore's major ethnic groups. Your work will directly contribute to advancing disease prevention and improving healthcare outcomes for generations to come.

About the Role

We're looking for a meticulous and dedicated professional to support data collection and data review activities within SPHS research projects. You'll play a key part in performing and analysing dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DXA) scans and ensuring the quality and integrity of research data.

What You'll Do

  • Obtain informed consent from research participants
  • Perform bone densitometry and whole body composition scans on 20 participants per health screening session
  • Conduct regular quality control, equipment calibration, and maintenance checks
  • Review scans for correct positioning and image acquisition parameters, and document artefacts
  • Analyse images to derive the bone density and body composition consistently, ensuring that the previous scanning parameters are adhered
  • Manage the inventory of consumables used in the DXA facility
  • Ensure the safety and privacy of research participants by adhering to best practices.
  • Support other population health research activities as needed

What We're Looking For

  • Diploma in Life or Health Sciences with a GPA of above 3.5 and minimum 2 years of any work experience, or a Degree in similar disciplines
  • Experience in imaging is an advantage
  • Strong interpersonal skills to engage participants and ensure their comfort
  • Excellent teamwork, time management, and service orientation
  • Interest in research within an academic environment

Work Hours:

  • Mon, Tue, Thu, Fri 7.45am to 6.15pm
  • Alternate Saturdays 7.45am to 3.15pm
