We are actively seeking a dry bulk operations trainee that matches the following criteria.
Required skills & competencies
- Good interpersonal and communication skills, both internally and externally with clients
- Strong conversational and written English as business language
- Strong conversational Mandarin for speaking to Chinese clients
- Able to work independently, critical thinkers preferred
- Committed, willing to learn, have an open mind,positive attitude and strive for continuous self-improvement
- Minimum diploma of any discipline (Maritime Studies or related will be preferred)
In this role you will learn how to
- Assist with the drawing up, management and execution of Charter Parties
- Be the point of contact / liaison between the Owners / Charterers on day-to-day shipping matters
- Produce, dissect and interpret Laytime / Freight Differential calculations.
- Assess Statements of Accounts and understand basic accounting
- Provide reliable consultancy between Owners and Charterers in resolving conflicts
- Manage and issue brokerage commission invoices
Compensation
- 5 days work per week, but expected to work overtime when necessary.
- Salary is to be determined according to experience and qualifications.
- Bonus: Performance related & discretionary.
