Job Description

We are seeking a motivated Drone Operations Assistant to support our engineering team during flight trials and field deployments for overseas support from August 2026 to October 2026. This role is designed for individuals with prior internship experience or technical backgrounds who can provide hands-on support in the setup, pre-flight preparation, and maintenance of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). You will be the boots on the ground ensuring our hardware is mission-ready.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Flight Trial Support: Assist the lead engineer in the field during live flight tests manage battery rotations, ground control station setup, and safety perimeter monitoring.

  • Pre-Flight Integration: Configure and calibrate drone hardware (sensors, payloads, and cameras) according to specific trial requirements.

  • Hardware Maintenance: Perform routine post-flight inspections, basic repairs, and cleaning of UAV systems to ensure operational longevity.

  • Field Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve minor hardware or connectivity issues on-site to minimize trial downtime.

  • Inventory & Logistics: Manage the preparation of field kits, ensuring all components, cables, and spares are packed and functional prior to deployment.

  • Documentation: Assist in logging flight data and technical issues encountered during trials to improve future SOPs.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Educational Background: Diploma or ongoing studies in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related technical field.

  • Experience: Previous internship experience within the UAV industry or a strong portfolio of hobbyist drone building/operation.

  • Technical Literacy: Ability to read basic schematics and follow technical checklists with high attention to detail.

  • Physical Readiness: Must be willing to work in outdoor field environments and handle the physical demands of transporting equipment.

  • Adaptability: Able to commit to short-term project durations or flexible on-call trial schedules.

Preferred Skills:

  • Prior experience with DJI or Pixhawk/PX4 based systems.

  • Familiarity with ground station software like QGroundControl or Mission Planner.

  • Basic soldering skills and experience with LiPo battery management.
