Job Summary
Deliver goods safely and efficiently to army camps while supporting store and warehouse operations. Plan routes, maintain vehicle condition, handle documentation, and comply with safety regulations to ensure timely deliveries.
Responsibilities
- Deliver goods to various army camps safely and on schedule, adhering to traffic laws and company procedures
- Handle, load, and unload items carefully to prevent damage during transport
- Plan and optimize delivery routes using GPS or navigational tools to meet deadlines and avoid traffic delays
- Maintain cleanliness and perform daily preventive vehicle checks including oil, tires, and fuel to ensure roadworthiness
- Complete and manage delivery documentation accurately, including mileage logs, fuel usage, and delivery orders
- Report any incidents, accidents, or vehicle defects promptly to supervisors or management
- Assist in store operations by packing, labeling, and organizing stock efficiently
- Conduct stock checks and support inventory management as needed
- Support warehouse activities and perform other ad hoc duties assigned by supervisors
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to coordinate deliveries and operations
Required competencies and certifications
- Hold a valid driving license appropriate for the vehicle class (e.g., Class 3 for cars/light goods vehicles, Class 4 for heavy vehicles)
- Possess vocational licenses for specialized driving roles if applicable (e.g., PDVL, TDVL, BDVL)
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Maintain a clean driving record with no major traffic violations
- Demonstrate physical fitness to sit for extended periods and lift heavy items up to 30kg during deliveries
- Have 2 to 3 years of driving experience
- Possess good communication skills
- Hold a degree or related professional qualification
- Proficient in MS Office applications
- Knowledgeable in Tally Accounting Software
