Job Description

A driver for the Public Utilities Board (PUB) will have a job scope that includes safely and efficiently transporting staff, guests, or goods. Key responsibilities include following all traffic laws, planning and navigating routes, performing basic vehicle maintenance, and ensuring the vehicle is clean and safe at all times. The role may also include additional administrative duties like distributing mail or paying bills, as outlined by their specific department.

Core responsibilities

  • Safe transportation: Safely and courteously drive staff, guests, or goods to designated locations, ensuring they arrive on time.
  • Route planning: Use navigational tools like GPS and maps to determine the most efficient and safest routes.
  • Vehicle maintenance: Keep the vehicle in good working order by performing routine tasks like checking fluid levels, ensuring proper tire pressure, and scheduling necessary repairs.
  • Vehicle upkeep: Maintain the interior and exterior of the vehicle, ensuring it is clean, presentable, and well-stocked with necessary supplies.

Additional duties

  • Administrative tasks: Handle administrative tasks as assigned, such as collecting payments, providing receipts, or delivering documents and mail.
  • Adherence to regulations: Follow all local and traffic laws and observe all safety regulations to prevent accidents.
  • Documentation: Ensure all necessary paperwork and documentation for transport are in order.

Essential skills:
