Dr Meng Tao Group: Assistant Research Officer/Research Officer

We are looking for a highly motivated and independent researcher with a background in applied virology. The successful candidate will work with the team on development of antiviral drugs and vaccines against HFMD, seasonal flu, dengue and so on.

Responsibilities:

. Assist in general lab maintenance and procurement.

. Culture cells and generate knock-in/knock-out cell lines.

. Detect and quantify virions, viral genome and/or viral proteins using various techniques (e.g., PCR, western blot, immunofluorescent assay).

. Evaluate the immune responses of small animals infected by viruses.

. Analyse data and prepare reports.

Requirements:

. MSc / BSc in immunology, microbiology, virology or a related field.

. Prior experience in animal and virus handling is advantageous.

. Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative research team.

. Good written and oral communication skills.
