Job Description

About Biobot Surgical. Biobot Surgical develops robotic surgical systems for image-guided prostate biopsy and therapy, used by clinicians across Asia, the US and Europe. We're a lean, fast-moving medtech team building technology that's already changing how urologists diagnose and treat prostate cancer - and we're growing.

About the Role. We're looking for a Downstream Product Manager to own what happens after a product change is approved for release: getting it into the field correctly, and making sure it's understood, adopted and used as intended by our internal teams, distributors, service partners and clinical users. You'll be the single point of accountability for field release execution, release communications, and training - and you'll run the channel that carries what we learn from the field back into how we build. This is a hands-on, cross-functional role with real ownership from day one, and plenty of room to grow into more as you prove yourself.

What You'll Do.

Field Release

  • Own the release plan for every software, firmware, hardware and accessory change — which systems and sites get what, in what order, and when.
  • Define rollout strategy: pilot sites, phased release, go/no-go criteria and rollback plans.
  • Coordinate with Operations, Service and Field Engineering on upgrade scheduling, logistics and customer downtime windows.
  • Track release performance — upgrade completion, cycle time, and the reasons behind any failed or reverted upgrades.

Communications & Messaging

  • Own the communication plan for every release: what's changing, why it matters, and what each audience needs to do.
  • Turn engineering change records into clear, accurate release notes and product bulletins for clinical, technical and commercial readers.
  • Maintain our product messaging library — feature descriptions, FAQs and objection handling.
  • Make sure no one, internal or external, hears about a product change for the first time in the field.

Training & Enablement

  • Design and deliver training for internal teams (clinical, service, sales, support) and external users (surgeons, nurses, hospital technical staff).
  • Build and maintain our training and reference library: decks, checklists, e-learning, video walkthroughs, lab content.
  • Run train-the-trainer programmes so distributors can scale training independently.
  • Own the usability and instructional quality of user-facing documentation, such as IFUs and manuals.

Launch Readiness & Field Intelligence

  • Run pre-release readiness reviews across R&D, Quality, Regulatory, Operations, Service and Commercial.
  • Brief regional teams and distributors ahead of every release.
  • Operate the intake channel for post-release field feedback, and turn it into evidence-backed improvement requests for the product roadmap.
  • Represent Biobot at exhibitions, congresses and site visits to bring market intelligence back into product and commercial planning.

What You'll Bring.

  • Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering, Life Sciences, Nursing, a clinical discipline, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in downstream product management, product marketing, clinical application, or technical training — ideally in medical devices, surgical robotics, diagnostics or health technology.
  • Some exposure to taking product changes into the field in a regulated environment — release planning, training rollout, or launch readiness.
  • Strong presentation and teaching ability — comfortable in front of both clinicians and engineers.
  • Excellent written communication — able to make a complex technical change genuinely easy to understand.
  • Working familiarity with medical device quality and regulatory basics (e.g. ISO 13485, IEC 62366) is a plus, not a requirement.
  • Comfortable juggling multiple stakeholders without formal authority over any of them.
  • A bias for action, strong attention to detail, and a low tolerance for ambiguity reaching the field.

Nice to Have.

  • Experience in a startup or lean, multidisciplinary environment.
  • Background in instructional design or digital learning content production.
  • Willingness to travel to customer and distributor sites regionally and globally.

What Success Looks Like in Year One

  • A single, trusted release process — plan, communicate, train, deploy, verify, record — used for every product change.
  • Internal teams and distributors briefed and competent before a release reaches users, not after.
  • A current, well-organised training and messaging library for the full product line.
  • Measurable improvement in feature adoption and a measurable drop in support issues caused by user misunderstanding.
