Job Summary
Peak Ocean Group is seeking a Document Controller for a 3-month contract to manage project documentation, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely distribution to support engineering and construction activities.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and organize all project-related drawings, specifications, and procedures to ensure document integrity and accessibility.
- Manage the Master Document Register (MDR) to accurately track the status and version control of all project deliverables.
- Code, number, and version-control all incoming and outgoing documents to maintain consistency and traceability.
- Distribute technical drawings and documents to relevant departments including Engineering, HSE, QA/QC, and Production to facilitate project workflows.
- Coordinate review and approval cycles among the shipyard, client, and third-party classification societies such as ABS and DNV to ensure compliance and timely approvals.
- Support administrative tasks including the collection and processing of invoices related to project documentation.
- Participate in regular project meetings to provide updates and align documentation status with project progress.
- Generate weekly and monthly progress reports detailing document status and outstanding approvals to inform project management.
- Alert Project Managers proactively to potential delays in the documentation pipeline that could impact the construction schedule.
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
- The work location is near Tanjong Pagar MRT station have the willingness to travel to the shipyard for project meetings.
- Knowledge of Mandarin to facilitate effective communication with international project teams.
- Strong interpersonal skills to liaise effectively between multi-disciplinary teams and international clients.
- Ability to understand technical terminology related to rig systems and shipyard operations.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced shipyard environment with shifting deadlines.
Required competencies and certifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in document control within the Oil & Gas, Marine, or Offshore Renewables sectors.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Precision in tracking revisions critical for rig safety and compliance.
