Job Description

Brief Summary:

Lead the Financial Reporting and Standards Department, focusing on enhancing public accountancy standards through strategic programmes and stakeholder collaboration. This position offers an opportunity to drive regulatory initiatives that uphold quality financial reporting.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic direction and advice to management teams, ensuring alignment with international accounting bodies and enhancing regulatory practices.
  • Develop staff capabilities and strengthen leadership to support organisation priorities and foster talent.
  • Drive transformative initiatives in regulatory areas, focusing on process improvements and technology adoption to enhance efficiency.
  • Oversee environmental scanning to keep the department informed of developments in accounting and auditing standards.
  • Engage with the public accountancy sector to gather insights and address emerging issues in financial reporting.
  • Direct the review and updating of policies and legislation to meet evolving regulatory needs and advance strategic objectives.
  • Collaborate with government agencies to support the organisation's mission.
  • Participate in various committee meetings to provide insights and influence policy development and regulatory programmes.
  • Build and maintain networks within the international regulatory community to enhance cooperation and alignment with organisational interests.

Requirements:

  • Recognised degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in accounting and auditing, with a strong understanding of regulatory frameworks.
  • Prior working experience in Big 4 is mandatory.
  • Proven leadership and management skills, with experience in driving change.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with local and international stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to provide strategic insights in a complex environment.
