THE ROLE :
The District Manager is accountable for the strategic direction, operational excellence, and overall performance of Singapore office.
This leadership role guides a team of department leaders to strengthen and growthe branch through a focused approach across key areas: Operations, Finance,Sales, People, Systems, and Culture.
A critical part of this responsibility isensuring full compliance with the Company's policies, procedures, and Code of Business Conduct at all times.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic & OperationalLeadership
- Develop and execute strategy in alignment with regional and corporate objectives.
- Lead and align department leaders to drive business growth, operational excellence, and customer satisfaction.
- Monitor business performance and implement initiatives to improve productivity, profitability, and service quality.
- Foster collaboration and accountability across functions while representing the local office in regional leadership discussions.
Operations
- Ensure efficient, compliant, and customer-focused operations across the local office.
- Maintain an organizational structure that supports growth, agility, and operational effectiveness.
- Drive continuous improvement in processes, service delivery, and cost management.
- Build strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and key business partners while staying informed of market and industry trends.
Finance
- Own the financial performance of the local office, including budgeting, forecasting, and profit and loss management.
- Drive revenue growth, productivity, profitability, and cost optimization.
- Ensure effective management of cash flow, financial controls, contractual commitments, and business risks.
- Promote financial discipline and compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Sales & Business Development
- Lead customer retention, business development, and market expansion initiatives.
- Support commercial strategies, pricing decisions, contract negotiations, and key business opportunities.
- Build and maintain strategic customer relationships to strengthen market position and long-term growth.
- Ensure successful onboarding and implementation of new business opportunities.
People & Talent Development
- Build, develop, and lead a high-performing leadership team.
- Drive talent development, succession planning, and employee engagement initiatives.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning.
- Support workforce planning, recruitment, and retention to meet current and future business needs.
Systems
- Champion the adoption of new technologies, systems, and process improvements.
- Drive innovation and continuous improvement across the organization.
- Promote data-driven decision-making and effective change management.
Culture
- Promote the Company's culture, values, and standards of conduct.
- Foster employee engagement and a high-performance culture.
- Ensure excellence in customer service and customer satisfaction.
Qualification/Min Requirements
- Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in logistics or a related industry, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Proven track record in leading business operations with full P&L accountability, including budgeting, financial management, and business growth.
- Demonstrated success in sales leadership, customer retention, business development, and strategic account management.
- Strong understanding of logistics and supply chain operations, including freight forwarding, warehousing, transportation, and regulatory compliance.
- Experience in operational excellence, vendor management, risk management, and compliance governance.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to translate business objectives into actionable plans and deliver sustainable results.
- Strong leadership and people management capabilities, including talent development, succession planning, employee engagement, and performance management.
- Commercially and financially acumen, with the ability to optimize revenue, profitability, and operational efficiency.
- Excellent communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build relationships across all levels, internally and externally.
- Demonstrated ability to lead change, drive innovation, and implement systems and process improvements.
- Strong understanding of local market dynamics and business regulations.
- Strong command of English, both written and spoken.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and business reporting and analytics tools.
