Job Description

The Talent People Pte. Ltd. is recruiting a Discipline Support Officer (DSO) for a reputable secondary school on the East Coast. This role supports the school's Student Management team in strengthening discipline structures, student supervision, and restorative practices.

Working Hours

  • Monday-Thursday: 9:00am-5:00pm
  • Friday: 9:00am-3:00pm
  • School days only

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct preliminary investigations and fact-finding interviews for discipline incidents compile evidence and prepare structured incident reports
  • Supervise daily detention sessions, after-school Community Work Order (CWO) programmes, and maintain accurate attendance and behavioural records
  • Support in-house suspension processes - structured environment setup, learning continuity, and student re-entry activities
  • Serve as a visible adult presence in high-movement areas (recess, lunch, lesson transitions, dismissal)
  • Conduct systematic patrol duties in-school and at adjacent public areas (e.g. nearby MRT vicinity)
  • Support student reflection, peer reconciliation, and restitution activities in line with the school's restorative discipline approach
  • Collaborate closely with Year Heads, HOD Student Management, and classroom teachers

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of uniformed service background (Singapore Police Force, Singapore Prison Service, or equivalent) - MANDATORY
  • Demonstrated experience working with at-risk youth in educational, community, or correctional settings
  • Strong conflict management and de-escalation skills
  • Excellent documentation and incident-reporting ability
  • Firm, empathetic, and respectful engagement style with students
  • Professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment in sensitive situations
  • Commitment to restorative discipline and student growth

Preferred

  • Prior deployment in a school-based discipline or student management role
  • Familiarity with MOE school culture and protocols
