Job Description

The Director (General) is responsible for providing strategic leadership, operational oversight, and organizational direction to ensure the achievement of the company's vision, mission, and long-term objectives. The role involves overseeing daily operations, driving growth initiatives, ensuring financial sustainability, and fostering a high-performance culture across departments.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Leadership

. Develop and implement short- and long-term organizational strategies.

. Align departmental goals with overall business objectives.

. Identify growth opportunities, partnerships, and new business initiatives.

. Advise the Board of Directors and stakeholders on strategic direction.

2. Operational Management

. Oversee day-to-day operations across all departments.

. Ensure efficient resource allocation and cost management.

. Establish policies, systems, and processes to improve operational effectiveness.

. Monitor performance metrics and implement corrective actions when necessary.

3. Financial Oversight

. Develop and manage annual budgets.

. Monitor financial performance, profitability, and cash flow.

. Ensure compliance with financial regulations and reporting standards.

. Approve major expenditures and investments.

4. Leadership & People Management

. Lead, mentor, and develop senior management and departmental heads.

. Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and innovation.

. Oversee recruitment, performance management, and succession planning.

. Promote employee engagement and organizational values.

5. Governance & Compliance

. Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and corporate governance requirements.

. Maintain strong relationships with regulators, partners, and stakeholders.

. Represent the organization in public, industry, and government forums.

6. Risk Management

. Identify organizational risks and implement mitigation strategies.

. Ensure business continuity planning and crisis management preparedness.

Job Requirements

. Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, Finance, or a related field (MBA or relevant postgraduate degree preferred).

. Minimum 10-15 years of progressive leadership experience, with at least 5 years in a senior management role.

. Proven track record in strategic planning and operational leadership.

. Strong financial acumen and budget management experience.

. Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and decision-making skills.

. High level of integrity, professionalism, and accountability.
