The Director/Vice President role offers the opportunity to lead technology and architecture strategy within a growing life science technology environment. This role plays an important part in shaping the organisation's evolution from a hardware-led product business into a software and AI-enabled platform model.
Responsibilities
- Define problems and system logic, laying out challenges clearly for stakeholders
- Own architecture discipline across hardware, firmware, software, cloud, and AI layers
- Apply software development principles to hardware interfaces, making complex instrumentation feel simple and intuitive for end-users
- Lead the architecture and delivery of the next-generation software platform, integrating AI capabilities into unified, workflow-level user experiences
- Work closely with R&D, Engineering, Applications, Product, and Commercial teams to align architecture with constraints and commercial priorities
Requirements
- More than 10 years of experience in systems architecture, platform engineering, or related disciplines
- A genuine problem-first thinker, comfortable defining and structuring ambiguous challenges before reaching for a solution, rather than defaulting to familiar fixes
- Experience building consumer-facing or non-expert-facing interfaces for complex technical products
