Job Description
We are seeking a Director of Technology Consulting to lead construction‑focused technical engagements for ICT infrastructure in mission‑critical data centers. This role centers on optical fiber backbone systems, spine‑and‑leaf network layouts, pathway and conveyance design, and supporting ICT power distribution—delivered with strong emphasis on constructability, installation sequencing, and coordination with trades. The ideal candidate brings deep, real‑world experience designing and delivering large‑scale data center ICT projects and serves as a trusted technical advisor during early design and procurement phases.
Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a pre‑sales engineering team focused on ICT infrastructure for data center construction projects.
- Act as the senior technical authority for customer engagements involving:
- Optical fiber backbone and structured cabling systems (SMF/MMF)
- Spine‑and‑leaf network topology layouts aligned to physical rack and row design
- ICT conveyance systems including ladder rack, cable tray, raceway, and pathways
- ICT‑related power distribution supporting network and IT equipment
- Lead front‑end technical discovery with owners, designers, and contractors to align scope, standards, and installation approach.
- Develop constructable, standards‑compliant solutions that account for labor, material takeoffs, phasing, and commissioning.
- Support Sales in RFP/RFQ responses, technical clarifications, bid leveling, and scope reviews.
- Partner closely with construction managers, project managers, and field teams to ensure designs reflect real‑world installation constraints.
- Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to influence standard designs, kits, and deployment methodologies.
Required Qualifications
- 15+ years of experience designing, installing, or delivering ICT infrastructure within mission‑critical data center construction projects.
- Deep expertise in optical fiber cabling systems, structured cabling, pathways, and ICT infrastructure coordination.
- Strong understanding of installation methods, construction sequencing, testing, and commissioning for data center ICT systems.
- Experience working directly with general contractors, electrical contractors, and low‑voltage integrators.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline.
Preferred Qualifications
- BICSI RCDD certification strongly preferred.
- Experience supporting large‑scale hyperscale, colocation, or multi‑building data center campuses.
- Familiarity with BICSI, TIA, ISO/IEC, and owner‑specific design and build standards.
- Ability to clearly communicate technical scope, risk, and constructability considerations to technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
Reporting & Travel
- Reports to solutions leadership
- Up to 30–40% travel driven by project pursuits and customer engagement
