Purpose of the role
Lead the Business Unit talent agenda for corporate and operational colleagues supporting the businesses growth aspiration
Key Accountabilities
Talent Management
- Working with the BU HR Partner, and BU Leadership Team establish a workforce plan, identifying talent requirements and organizational capabilities needed to support the BU's growth agenda.
- Evaluate the health of our talent pipeline for both operational and corporate leadership roles in BU, to determine the gap to be filled, and the path to achieve it.
- Map out and lead the talent planning cycle in BU for corporate colleagues and across our managed hotel operations, engaging HR operations teams in the market.
- Provide support to leaders to develop & accelerate our diverse talent into critical / high-value roles, leveraging global programs and initiatives as required.
- Champion our broader remit proactive talent management, driving performance, and enabling an inclusive culture across the business
- Work with HRBPs & Talent Acquisition to provide regular insights on talent health across the BU
- Act as the primary interface between BU and Global Talent CoE, providing feedback and insight to support global product and initiative development.
Hotel Careers & IHG Academy
- Leverage global tools and frameworks to support hotel career development within the managed estate.
- Working alongside local HR teams, promote and champion the learning and talent interventions that make up IHG's hotel career pathway
- Working with the Global Talent CoE, support the BU to leverage the IHG Academy and Skills Academy offerings
Performance cycle & culture
- Working alongside the BU HR team to provide the subject matter expertise on managing an effective performance cycle across the year, driving a culture of high performance
- Partnering with BU to embed High Performance Culture approach into region.
Functional leadership
- Line management responsibility for the BU Talent Manager
Required Education, Experience, Technical Skills and Knowledge
Education
Bachelor's degree in HR Management, Business Administration, Hospitality & Tourism management or similar field, CIPD or equivalent professional qualification
Experience
- Extensive experience in HR Generalist or Talent COE roles, partnering operational stakeholder groups
- Good knowledge of IHG Human Resources systems, policies and processes
- High level of business acumen, change management, and issue resolution
Technical Skills and Knowledge
- Outstanding track record of delivering 360degree performance and talent agenda
- Sound understanding of talent and performance frameworks and which levers to pull to strengthen talent pipeline
- A strong relationship builder able to collaborate and influence at all levels and drive engagement
- Strong project management skills
- Ability to create own direction and use initiative
- Well-developed and contemporary IT skills and Analytical mindset - actively uses data to form insights and build business cases
- Strong experience in managing indirect or dotted line reports/area leads
- Hunger to continuously learn and understand best practice, latest thinking and build networks externally
