Our client is a well-established and matrixed organisation with a broad range of stakeholders and operations. As part of its continued focus on organisational effectiveness and transformation, there is now an opportunity for an accomplished professional leader to join them as Director, Strategy & Operations. This is a senior leadership appointment with significant exposure to the organisation's leadership team and the opportunity to shape strategy, strengthen organisational capabilities and drive operational excellence.
RoleReporting to a senior leader and working closely with the leadership team, you will serve as a strategic advisor and thought partner, translating organisational priorities into actionable plans and measurable outcomes. You will lead a broad portfolio of corporate and operational functions, with a key mandate to drive organisational transformation, service excellence and continuous improvement. This includes reviewing and optimising processes, operating models and organisational structures, while leveraging data and technology to strengthen decision-making and overall operational performance.
You will lead and develop a sizeable and diverse team across multiple functions, fostering a high-performance culture centred on collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement. In addition, you will oversee financial and resource planning, strengthen governance, risk and compliance frameworks, and lead complex strategic and change initiatives. Working across organisational boundaries, you will build strong partnerships with senior internal and external stakeholders and play an important role in ensuring the effective execution of organisation-wide priorities.
RequirementsIdeally, you are a seasoned leader with at least 15 years of progressive leadership experience gained within large and complex organisations. You have demonstrated success leading broad corporate services, operations, admin and/or shared services functions at a senior level, coupled with a proven track record in strategic planning, organisational transformation, operational excellence and change management. A Bachelor's degree from a recognised institution is required, while a relevant postgraduate qualification will be highly advantageous. You are strategic yet pragmatic, have strong operational and financial acumen and are comfortable navigating complexity, ambiguity and change. You have the gravitas and influencing skills to engage senior stakeholders and lead diverse teams within a matrix environment. You are highly collaborative and possess strong communication and leadership capabilities.
