About Our Client
Our client is a leading global bank with a strong corporate banking presence across Asia. As part of its continued growth and portfolio expansion, the bank is looking to appoint a Senior Credit Approver to provide independent credit oversight across Large Corporate and Mid-Cap Corporate clients.
This is a newly approved headcount and a highly visible role partnering closely with Corporate Banking, Coverage, and Senior Risk stakeholders. The position offers the opportunity to influence strategic credit decisions across a diversified portfolio spanning multiple industries and markets across Asia.
Key Responsibilities
• Review and approve credit proposals across Large Corporate and Mid-Cap Corporate portfolios
• Provide independent credit assessment and recommendations for new and existing lending relationships
• Evaluate financial performance, business fundamentals, industry dynamics, and risk-return considerations
• Challenge assumptions, identify emerging risks, and ensure sound credit judgement across transactions
• Partner closely with Relationship Managers and business stakeholders to support prudent portfolio growth
• Monitor portfolio trends, sector developments, and concentration risks across industries
• Contribute to credit policy enhancement, portfolio reviews, and risk governance initiatives
• Support senior management on strategic credit and portfolio management decisions
Requirements
• 12+ years of experience within Corporate Banking Credit Risk, Credit Approval, Corporate Banking, or related disciplines
• Strong experience assessing credit risk across Large Corporate and Mid-Cap Corporate clients
• Demonstrated ability to evaluate complex credit structures, financial statements, and industry risks
• Strong analytical, judgement, and decision-making capabilities
• Ability to engage constructively with senior business stakeholders while maintaining independent risk oversight
• Experience covering a broad range of industry sectors across Singapore and Asia would be advantageous
• Proficiency in Mandarin and English is required for this role, as the successful candidate will be required to communicate with and review information from Mandarin-speaking stakeholders and counterparties
