Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and visionary Senior Manager / Director of PTE to lead and transform our product engineering practices.

This role is pivotal as a key leadership responsible for overseeing the product development of Automotive Microcontroller products. This position ensures that the products meet quality, performance, and reliability standards while driving innovation in methodologies and manufacturing processes. The role will lead cross-functional teams, collaborate with design and operations, and optimize strategies/efficiency to enhance yield, reduce test costs, and accelerate time-to-market. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering leadership and a with a proven track record of delivering scalable and innovative solutions.

This position requires a strategic thinker with hands-on expertise to ensure optimal solutions in scalability, flexibility, in product and manufacturability in a fast-paced, innovative environment for Automotive Microcontrollers.

The candidate shall ensure value generation for internal/external customers, ensure deployment of state-of-the-art processes,methods and tools; foster for productivity, drive innovation and continuous improvements. The candidate shall ensure for the quality of deliverables, drive discussions and decisions by involving relevant stakeholders.

Strategic Leadership:

  • Responsible for R&D Budget of :10+Mio EUR across multi platforms and products.
  • Lead a team of 20+ engineers and managers from diverse background with strong technical knowhow.
  • Drive team vision and strategy in accordance to company blue book directions.
  • Define and execute the strategic roadmap for in product engineering to achieve FTR (First Time Right) delivery in a time-boxed approach.
  • Define and execute product engineering strategies for microcontroller products, ensuring robust design validation and characterization.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, verification, test, product engineering, software and operations teams, to meet product manufacturability, testability, and yield goals for the business
  • Optimize project resource allocation by supporting multiple product families at a time. Foster for reuse, referencing and economy of scale to achieve higher productivity. Free-up resources to be prepared in time to the new challenges, technologies and products.
  • Oversee failure analysis, root-cause investigations, and corrective actions for product-related issues.
  • Drive product qualification and reliability testing to meet industry standards (AEC-Q100, ISO 26262, etc.).
  • Drive optimize test programs for yield improvement and test time reduction.
  • Work closely with foundry, OSAT (outsourced assembly and test), and internal manufacturing teams to ensure high-quality production.
  • Implement data analytics and machine learning techniques to enhance test efficiency and defect detection.
  • Establish metrics and KPIs to measure and enhance engineering efficiency and product quality.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement through Agile, Lean, and other modern engineering practices.
  • Drive the adoption of AI/ML and other advanced technologies to enhance automation capabilities.

Team Leadership:

  • Manage budgets, resource allocation, and project timelines to meet business objectives.

Drive continuous improvement in engineering processes and best practices.

  • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing team of engineers and specialists in infrastructure, methodology, and automation.
  • Foster a collaborative and innovative team culture focused on excellence and continuous learning.
  • Set performance goals, manage deliverables, and support professional growth within the team.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members.
  • Support growth of team competencies for next level of complexity of platforms and products.
  • Act as a key liaison between engineering teams and senior leadership to communicate progress, challenges, and opportunities.
  • Partner with external vendors and partners to leverage external expertise and resources through benchmarking.

Your Profile

You are best suited for this role if you have

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • 12+ years of experience in semiconductor with a focus on infrastructure, methodology, and automation.
  • Proven experience in product qualification, characterisation and test engineering, including the deployment of outsourcing.
  • Deep understanding of product development lifecycles and testing methodologies.
  • Strong background in digitisation and artificial intelligence has added advantage.
  • Deep knowledge of microcontroller architectures, embedded systems, and mixed-signal testing.
  • Experience with DFT (Design-for-Test), BIST, and silicon debug methodologies.
  • Familiarity with automotive, industrial, or IoT MCU markets is a plus.
  • Strong people management, strategic planning, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex technical and operational challenges.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • Leadership skills with a track record of managing multidisciplinary and multi-cultural teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and inspire teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Openness to new ideas and changes based on new dynamics.
