Our client is looking for a Product Director to lead the product strategy, roadmap and delivery of a large-scale trade platform supporting import, export, customs, permits, regulatory compliance and cross-border trade workflows.
The ideal candidate is a strong technical Product Leader with excellent product fundamentals, experience building complex B2B platforms, and the ability to work closely with engineering teams throughout the product development lifecycle. Candidates with experience in customs, logistics, trade platforms or other regulated enterprise systems will be highly regarded.
Responsibilities
- Define and own the product vision, strategy and roadmap for a large-scale trade platform.
- Lead multiple product teams across complex platform initiatives and product domains.
- Drive product discovery, prioritisation, roadmap planning and execution from concept through delivery.
- Work closely with engineering, design and programme teams to deliver scalable, high-quality software solutions.
- Translate business, operational and regulatory requirements into clear product requirements, user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Partner with engineering teams on technical feasibility, APIs, system integrations, architecture trade-offs and delivery planning.
- Lead stakeholder engagement across government agencies, business users, vendors and delivery partners.
- Balance user needs, technical constraints, regulatory requirements and business priorities when making product decisions.
- Drive the continuous evolution and improvement of complex B2B digital platforms and workflows.
- Establish product governance, success metrics, dependency management and delivery milestones.
- Mentor and coach Product Managers, fostering strong product management practices across the team.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful product delivery and adoption.
- Champion a customer-centric and data-driven approach to product development.
- Identify opportunities to leverage emerging technologies, including AI where appropriate, to improve operational efficiency and user experience, while maintaining strong software engineering and product fundamentals.
Requirements
- Minimum 10 years of Product Management experience, with a proven track record of leading complex enterprise or B2B software products.
- Demonstrated experience leading product teams and mentoring Product Managers in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
- Strong product management fundamentals across product discovery, customer research, roadmap development, prioritisation, execution and product delivery.
- Strong technical product management capabilities with the ability to work effectively alongside engineering teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Strong technical aptitude with a solid understanding of software engineering concepts, APIs, distributed systems, system integrations and technical trade-offs. Previous software engineering experience is highly desirable.
- Experience building or managing complex B2B software platforms, marketplace products, enterprise applications or workflow-driven systems.
- Experience working within regulated industries such as government, financial services, logistics, customs, trade, compliance or enterprise software is advantageous.
- Ability to translate complex business, operational and regulatory requirements into scalable product solutions.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, with experience working across engineering, design, senior leadership, government agencies and external partners.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make informed product decisions using both qualitative and quantitative data.
- Comfortable operating in fast-paced, ambiguous environments and able to thrive in a collaborative, evolving product organisation.
- Experience working across both high-growth technology companies and established enterprise organisations is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with AI-enabled products or AI-assisted software development (AI SDLC) is advantageous
