About the Role
An established healthcare institution is seeking an experienced healthcare operations leader to oversee the strategic direction and operational performance of its Operations Division.
This leadership role is responsible for ensuring the delivery of safe, efficient and patient-centric services across multiple clinical operations, while driving organisation-wide transformation, operational excellence and service innovation. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, you will work closely with senior management, clinical leaders and external healthcare partners to optimise the end-to-end patient journey and enhance operational effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the overall strategy, performance and operations of key patient service functions, including inpatient services, specialist outpatient clinics, emergency services and health information management.
- Drive operational excellence by improving patient flow, service delivery, resource utilisation and overall patient experience.
- Develop and implement operational strategies aligned with organisational priorities and long-term healthcare transformation initiatives.
- Lead service redesign, process optimisation and digital transformation projects to improve productivity and operational efficiency.
- Establish, review and enhance operational policies, governance frameworks and standard operating procedures.
- Monitor and achieve key organisational performance indicators relating to service quality, operational efficiency, patient safety and financial performance.
- Oversee workforce planning, manpower optimisation and organisational capability development through workforce analytics and succession planning.
- Manage divisional budgets and ensure effective allocation and utilisation of resources.
- Partner with clinical, nursing, allied health and corporate departments to deliver integrated and patient-centred care.
- Provide leadership in major organisational initiatives, including redevelopment projects, infrastructure planning and service transition planning.
- Represent the organisation on internal and cross-institutional committees, contributing to strategic planning and collaborative healthcare initiatives.
- Build strong partnerships with external healthcare organisations and community care providers to strengthen integrated care delivery.
- Lead and mentor a team of senior operational leaders while fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement and innovation.
Requirements
- Degree in Health Sciences, Healthcare Management, Business Administration or a related discipline. A postgraduate qualification such as an MBA or Master's in Healthcare Management will be advantageous.
- At least 15 years of leadership experience in operations, administration or project management, including a minimum of 5 years within the healthcare sector.
- Proven experience leading large multidisciplinary teams and managing complex healthcare operations.
- Strong track record in operational transformation, service improvement and organisational change management.
- Demonstrated experience in strategic planning, financial management, budgeting and workforce planning.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills, with the ability to work effectively across clinical and corporate functions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with experience leveraging technology and process improvement to drive operational excellence.
- Able to translate strategic objectives into practical execution plans while navigating a dynamic and complex healthcare environment.
