Job Description
The Peninsula Tokyo, a prestigious ultra-luxury hotel located in the heart of the city near Ginza and the Marunouchi financial district, is seeking a visionary Director of Sales & Marketing to lead our commercial strategy and elevate our brand presence in one of the world's most dynamic markets.
- This is a critical and influential leadership role reporting directly to the hotel's Managing Director.
- Oversees all aspects of the sales and marketing function, including sales generation, revenue, brand marketing, communications, digital, and event operations.
- International and diverse workplace (over 30 nationalities), part of a globally recognized luxury hotel group.
Key Accountabilities
- Develop and implement innovative sales and marketing strategies to drive revenue growth, market share, and brand equity.
- Solicit business from key market segments: negotiated corporate, consortia, wholesale, partnership programs, government, and group (meetings, incentives, conventions, and events) to achieve annual room and banquet revenue targets.
- Plan and execute impactful marketing campaigns, promotions, events, and sales roadshows that resonate with both domestic and international audiences.
- Optimize performance across all sales channels, leveraging data-driven insights and strong partnerships.
- Collaborate with Food & Beverage, Spa, and other divisions to maximize cross-selling opportunities and overall revenue.
- Manage budgets effectively to deliver transformative initiatives aligned with shifting guest demographics and market trends.
- Serve as a brand ambassador, ensuring all marketing assets and communications reflect The Peninsula's global standards and prestige.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Minimum of 5 years leadership experience in Sales & Marketing within luxury hospitality or related industries.
- Previous experience in hotel, travel, or related luxury consumer industries.
- Proven track record of achieving revenue targets and driving market share in competitive environments.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and strategic planning skills.
- Fluent in English with deep respect for Japanese culture; Japanese language skills highly advantageous.
