ABOUT THE COMPANY
Global Centre for Maritime Decarbonisation (GCMD)

The Global Centre for Maritime Decarbonisation (GCMD) was established asan independent, non-profit organisation on 1 August 2021 to helpinternational shipping decarbonise through pilots and trials. Its missionis to support decarbonisation through four pillars: shaping standards,deploying solutions, financing projects, and fostering collaboration acrosssectors.

GCMD was founded with the support of industry partners, alongsidefunding from the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) for qualifyingresearch and development programmes. Since its founding, GCMD has expanded itsecosystem to include more than 130 centre- and project-level partnerscontributing funds, expertise, and in-kind support to pilot, accelerate thedeployment, and scale the adoption of decarbonisation solutions.

GCMD has launched four key initiatives to close technical andoperational gaps in: enabling ammonia as a marine fuel, developing anassurance framework for drop-in green fuels, unlocking the carbon value chainthrough onboard carbon capture and articulating the value chain of capturedcarbon dioxide, as well as closing the data-financing gap to scale theadoption of energy efficiency technologies.

GCMD is strategically located in Singapore, the world's largestbunkering hub and busiest transshipment port.

RESPONSIBILITIES
The Director of Partnerships is responsible for developing and executing partnership strategies to advance the mission of GCMD, foster collaboration, and enhance GCMD's position within the industry. He/She will play a crucial role in identifying and cultivating strategic alliances with key stakeholders, including industry players, government agencies, and technology partners. The position reports to the Chief Executive Officer and interfaces closely with the Projects and Comms team.

• Partnership strategy development

. Develop a comprehensive understanding of industry trends, key players, and emerging technologies.

. Formulate and execute a strategic partnership roadmap aligned with organisational goals.

. Identify and evaluate potential partnership opportunities to support the decarbonisation mission of GCMD.

• Relationship management

. Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential partners across the ecosystem, including shipowners, shipbuilders, charterers, technology providers, financial institutions, and government agencies.

. Serve as an effective primary point of contact for key partners, ensuring a high level of satisfaction and collaboration.

. Build and steward relationships with government ministries and regulatory bodies, including the Ministry of Transport and MPA, to foster mutual understanding and identify areas of shared interest.

. Work closely with internal teams to align partnership activities with overall mission objectives.

. Coordinate and maintain partnership database.

. Develop plans and processes to track, manage and engage partners. Initiate discussions with leadership team in a timely manner on partnership renewals.

• Negotiation and contracting

. Lead negotiations for partnership agreements, ensuring favourable terms and mutually beneficial outcomes.

. Draft, review, and finalise partnership contracts and agreements in consultation with the Corporate Services team.

. Prepare information and papers to seek board approval for new partnerships.

• Market analysis and research

. Conduct market research to identify potential areas for collaboration and partnership.

. Stay informed about industry developments, competitive landscapes, and regulatory changes that may impact partnerships.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS,EXPERIENCE
. Minimum bachelor's degree in Maritime, Business, Marketing, orrelated field

. Proven experience in developing and managing partnerships in themaritime sector

. In-depth knowledge of the maritime industry, including keyplayers, trends, and regulatory landscape.

.Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills

. Demonstrated ability to think strategically and executetactically

. Track record of successfully driving business growth throughstrategic partnerships

. Passionate about sustainability and maritime decarbonisation

. Team player, highly motivated, ability to work independently andconfidently under pressure

. Travel is required.
