Strategy and Planning
- Participate in developing, formulating and implementing marketing plans and strategies with the coverage teams in line with Division's business objectives.
- Participate in the developing, planning and executing of Account Planning together with coverage bankers including Sector, M&A, other Product Teams and Corporate Banking teams.
- Assist in identifying and allocating resource requirements, including people requirements, for the M&A team
Business Performance
- Originate M&A transactions from leads generated across the bank's platform, as well as incumbent's own network and contacts
- Lead and manage the execution of M&A transactions, including deal sourcing, negotiation and closing
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, investors, and other key stakeholders
- Oversee the preparation of financial models, valuation analyses, and due diligence reports
- Provide strategic advice and guidance to clients on potential acquisitions, divestitures and mergers and other initiatives
- Cultivate a platform that facilitates the generation of M&A ideas, through market intelligence, account planning process, as well as periodic network calls/meets
- Collaborate with senior bankers to identify growth opportunities and enhance firm's market position
- Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes and market developments
- Develop and constantly enhance M&A specific domain knowledge to best in class standards
People Management & Resource Planning
- Mentor, guide and train junior team members
- Act as role model and drive activities to encourage and build desired organisational culture, values and reputation in the Group markets and with all staff, customers and regulatory/official bodies.
- Assessing staff for their competencies, identifying training needs and promoting personnel development.
- Ensure that junior team members are trained and continually upskilled to maintain technical knowledge and skills.
Compliance
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements, guidelines and updates, and market conventions issued from time to time
- Ensure compliance with CIMB Group policies & procedures, Department's policies and procedures, client mandates, and external auditors requirements.
Others
- Represent IBK in relevant internal and external meetings and perform any other duties as and when instructed by the Group Head of IBK.
- Perform any other responsibilities/tasks as assigned by the Management from time to time.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting or related field; MBA or CFA preferred.
- Minimum 10 -15 years in investment banking, corporate finance, or M&A advisory, with proven track record in executing complex transactions.
- Strong knowledge of valuation techniques, financial modeling and capital markets.
- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks (BNM, SC, Bursa Malaysia).
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage high-pressure timelines.
