Job Summary
The Director of IT leads technology oversight across HPL Hotels & Resorts managed properties, supporting IT Managers, ensuring compliance with group standards and driving technology projects to enhance operational efficiency and guest experience.
Responsibilities
- Provide functional leadership and support to IT Managers across HPL's directly managed hotels to ensure consistent technology operations
- Enforce adherence to group technology standards, cybersecurity protocols and operational best practices at property IT teams
- Collaborate with the VP Technology & MEP to plan technology strategies, review projects, evaluate budgets and assess vendors for optimal investment decisions
- Analyze and approve IT budgets, CAPEX proposals, system upgrades and technology investment requests to align with group priorities
- Oversee critical hospitality systems including PMS, POS, CRS, RMS, IPTV, guest applications, finance systems, EMS and GRMS, ensuring seamless integration and performance
- Support infrastructure planning and management for networks, guest Wi-Fi, servers, cloud services, firewalls, telephony, IPTV and guest room technologies to maintain robust operations
- Implement and monitor cybersecurity, compliance, backup, disaster recovery and business continuity practices across all properties to mitigate risks
- Manage relationships and performance of key vendors, service providers, consultants and system integrators to ensure service quality and contract compliance
- Lead and support technology projects such as refurbishments, system migrations, pre-openings, brand conversions and infrastructure refreshes to drive innovation and operational excellence
- Balance property-specific requirements with group standards, ownership priorities and long-term technology value to optimize resource allocation and technology adoption
- Identify risks proactively and provide clear, actionable recommendations to senior leadership independently, managing priorities across multiple properties
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Experience working in luxury or branded hotel environments including involvement in refurbishments, pre-opening, or brand conversion projects
- Familiarity with hospitality technology platforms such as Oracle OPERA, Shiji, Micros, Infrasys, IPTV, GRMS, EMS, guest applications and hotel integration systems
- Knowledge of ITIL frameworks, ISO 27001 standards, PCI compliance, data privacy regulations and hospitality cybersecurity requirements
- Experience coordinating IT initiatives with Engineering, ELV, MEP and smart building systems to support integrated hotel operations
