Job Description

Director of Interiors — Singapore Hotel Development

You've spent 15 years making other people's hotels beautiful.

Concept, DD, CD, FF&E, the site walks at 6am checking a stone sample against the render. You know the work. You also know the bit nobody puts in the awards write-up: the consultant gets the credit, the owner gets the asset, and you get the next brief.

This role flips that.

It sits owner-side at one of the most recognised luxury properties in Asia, inside a multi-billion-dollar expansion programme. You'd run a team of design managers across CAPEX renovations, conversions and new-build interiors, with a single mandate: hold the design standard from brief to opening, across every consultant, contractor and operations team that touches it.

What that means day-to-day: writing the RFPs and consultant contracts, not responding to them. Reviewing FF&E, artwork and OS&E submittals against brand and code, and sending them back when they're not right. Sitting with Operations to work out what the guest actually experiences, then defending that in front of Procurement when the number moves. Mentoring consultants through the approvals process rather than being mentored through it.

Whom it suits: someone at Director or Studio Director level in a top-tier hospitality ID practice (you know which ones), or already client-side at an operator or developer, with a luxury resort or large mixed-use project you can talk about start to finish. Integrated resort or regulated gaming exposure helps but isn't the deal-breaker. Being able to sketch, read a set of drawings, and hold a room of senior stakeholders is.

Whom it doesn't suit: pure concept designers, anyone who wants to be the name on the project, or anyone who's not prepared to relocate to Singapore.

If that's you, or you know who it is, message me or email [Confidential Information]. Conversations first, CVs later.
