Director, Finance & Operations

Our client is a Singapore-headquartered investment management firm investing globally in early-stage companies across five sectors: energy and power generation, mobility and transportation, food and agriculture, buildings, and industries.

Managing multiple fund vehicles on behalf of family offices, corporates and institutional investors, they are currently licensed by the Monetary Authority of Singapore as a Venture Capital Fund Manager, with the view to upgrading to a full CMS license in due course.

The Firm is expanding beyond its existing venture capital strategy and is assessing opportunities in areas such as fund-of-funds and private credit. The Director, Finance & Operations will play a key role in developing the financial and operational platform needed to support this growth.

The Opportunity

Working as part of a small but collaborative team, this role will be report directly to the CEO / Managing Partner and you will be the firm's most senior non-investment executive, overseeing finance, fund operations, valuations, regulatory compliance, investor servicing, treasury and corporate operations. This is a high-impact leadership role offering the opportunity to shape the firm's operational platform and build a team as the business grows.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead finance, fund operations and investor reporting across multiple private market funds.
• Oversee fund valuations, audits, treasury, budgeting and financial reporting.
• Advise on new fund launches, fund structures and operational frameworks.
• Ensure compliance with MAS regulatory requirements and strengthen risk management processes.
• Manage external service providers including fund administrators, auditors, legal counsel and tax advisors.
• Drive operational excellence, process improvements and scalable infrastructure to support future growth.

Requirements

• 10 - 15 years of relevant experience in fund finance, fund operations or fund administration within a MAS-regulated fund management company.
• Strong understanding of private fund structures (VC, PE, Fund-of-Funds, Private Credit or related strategies).
• Experience with fund valuations, financial reporting, audits and regulatory compliance.
• Professional qualifications such as CA, CPA or CFA are advantageous.
• Comfortable operating in a lean, entrepreneurial environment with a hands-on approach.
