Role Description
A Director of Cloud Solutions is responsible for leading the strategy, design, and implementation of cloud-based technologies within an organization. This role oversees cloud architecture, migration, and operations while ensuring that cloud solutions support business goals, scalability, and security requirements.
Key responsibilities include:
- Develop and lead the organization's cloud strategy and roadmap
- Oversee the design, deployment, and management of cloud infrastructure and platforms
- Lead cloud architecture, migration, and modernization initiatives
- Manage teams of cloud engineers, architects, and DevOps professionals
- Ensure cloud environments are secure, scalable, and cost-efficient
- Collaborate with IT, engineering, and business teams to deliver cloud solutions
- Manage relationships with cloud service providers and technology vendors

Qualifications
Typical qualifications for a Director of Cloud Solutions include:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- 10+ years of experience in IT, cloud computing, or infrastructure leadership
- Strong knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud
- Experience with cloud architecture, DevOps, and infrastructure automation
- Leadership experience managing cloud engineering or architecture teams
- Knowledge of containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
