The Director (Government Affairs) for SAP in Southeast Asia is responsible for developing and executing strategies for government and regulatory engagements in Southeast Asia, aligning with SAP's business objectives. The person is expected to work in partnership with internal stakeholders, anticipating and engaging on policies and regulations with an impact on SAP operations and business growth. The role also involves identifying political and social developments beneficial to the industry and working towards brand amplification

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Strategic engagements with Governments in Southeast Asian countries on key initiatives, programs, and projects to ensure proactive coverage to SAP as the trusted technology partner.
  • Maintain long term relationship with key Government stakeholders including strategic engagements for SAP senior management on Government initiatives.
  • Engage, lead, and manage relationships with industry associations to present SAP point on view.
  • Sensitization of internal stakeholders on relevant ethics rules, legislative and regulatory processes in different countries.
  • Provide strategic insights to sales teams on status and progress of key Government programs and potential business opportunities.
  • Advise internal teams on navigating governmental structures and policy impacts throughout go-to-market cycles and business operations.
  • Own the regulatory and policy intake process for Southeast Asia.
  • Coordinate with internal organizations to shape and execute effective development strategies within the public sector.
  • Act as a liaison with government entities during crises to ensure SAP's interests are represented and protected.
  • Maintain strategic relationship with key influencers and Government nodal agencies.
  • Participate in program committees as industry representative.
  • Develop and maintain a network within IT and Consulting industry to ensure addressing of common interest areas.
  • Continuous, proactive, and strategic engagement on policy issues with Governments in the region to ensure favourable regulatory environment for SAP in the region.
  • Prepare policy papers, response to policy statements, point of views on key policies including IT, taxation, trade and IPR etc.
  • Work with industry associations on larger industry issues
  • Create knowledge content on policies based on global experiences and lead thought leadership engagements with stakeholders based on the same.
  • Represent SAP on key consultative groups on policy issues.
  • Work on SAP's partnerships with the Government on areas like artificial intelligence, sustainability, digital skilling, innovation and cyber physical systems.
  • Amplify SAP initiatives on Government platforms.

Desired Experience:

  • More than 15 years of work experience in Government/ Public Policy/ Strategic Business Support/ Consulting/ Industry Associations

Desired Qualifications:

  • Postgraduate in Business Administration/ Public Administration/ Public Policy/ Law/Economics or another relevant degree at the Post Graduate level.
