Senior Data Platform Leadership Opportunity (APAC)

My client is looking for a senior data leader to drive the next stage of a large-scale enterprise data transformation across Asia-Pacific, building a modern, governed data foundation that enables advanced analytics, AI capabilities, and regulatory reporting at scale.

This role sits at the heart of a strategic initiative to redesign how data is ingested, structured, governed, and consumed across the organisation. It combines platform ownership, programme leadership, and stakeholder influence across multiple countries and business domain

What You'll Be Responsible For:

• Set the direction and delivery approach for a regional enterprise data platform, including roadmap planning and phased execution.
• Lead the development of a modern data architecture based on layered data processing (raw ingestion through to curated, business-ready datasets).
• Establish a consistent approach to building reusable, well-governed data assets that support self-service analytics and advanced use cases.
• Own standards for data quality, consistency, and integration across multiple business domains.
• Drive enterprise-wide data onboarding, ensuring prioritisation is aligned with business value, regulatory needs, and strategic priorities.
• Embed strong governance practices across all stages of the data lifecycle, including traceability, control, and accountability.
• Lead complex delivery programmes involving technology teams, business stakeholders, and external partners across multiple regions.
• Act as a key point of influence for senior stakeholders on data platform strategy and execution.

What You Bring:

• Extensive experience (12–15+ years) in enterprise data, platform engineering, or data transformation leadership roles.
• A strong track record of delivering large-scale data platform or lakehouse-style programmes in complex organisations.
• Deep understanding of data management disciplines such as data quality, governance, metadata, lineage, and master/reference data concepts.
• Experience working in regulated industries, ideally financial services, with awareness of compliance-driven data requirements.
• Familiarity with modern cloud data ecosystems and tools such as Databricks, Azure-based platforms, data cataloguing/governance tools, and related technologies.
• Proven ability to lead multi-country, multi-stakeholder programmes in highly matrixed environments.
