Job Description

Newly Created: Director, Corporate Development (Corporate HQ)

Our client is an established International MNC with Corporate HQ based in Singapore. In view of continued international business expansion and growth opportunities, an opportunity has arisen for a new headcount as Director, Corporate Development.

A highly experienced Director with 8-10 solid years of grounding including corporate finance, M&A full suite deal experience, you will report directly into the Head of Corporate Development in a newly created role.

Key Areas of Responsibility

Business Management for Growth Engines

  • Act as a strategic business partner to multiple growth engines and joint initiatives
  • Develop a deep understanding of each venture's strategy, performance drivers, and key risks
  • Maintain financial oversight, including P&L management, budgeting, and performance tracking
  • Analyze industry trends, competitive dynamics, and market developments relevant to the ventures
  • Support operational business management activities, including leadership briefings and governance processes
  • Ensure leadership representatives are well prepared for board and steering committee discussions
  • Manage internal reporting, governance, and risk management requirements
  • Serve as a key relationship manager across senior leadership and operating teams
  • Periodic international travel may be required

New Growth Initiatives & Strategic Partnerships

  • Originate, evaluate, and execute strategic partnerships and growth initiatives
  • Develop and assess business cases for new ventures, investments, and partnerships
  • Support market entry initiatives, including partner identification, joint venture formation, and transaction execution
  • Structure and manage partnerships aligned with long-term strategic objectives, including potential pathways to increased ownership
  • Provide strategic oversight and support on major initiatives such as investments, divestments, and mergers and acquisitions
  • Work closely with business leadership teams to review, refine, and execute growth strategies

Portfolio & Program Strategy

  • Ensure alignment and coordination across internal teams and external partners
  • Support the development of cross-business initiatives and shared value creation opportunities
  • Build strong working relationships and communication channels across functions and geographies
  • Support execution of overall portfolio strategy and key strategic priorities
  • Drive program management across multiple workstreams, ensuring objectives, timelines, and outcomes are met

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or a related discipline
  • 8 - 10 years of relevant experience in investment banking, private equity, corporate finance, investments or venture capital
  • Strong understanding of financial management, accounting principles, and performance analysis
  • Experience in business valuation and financial modeling is an advantage
  • Familiarity with operating in complex or regulated environments
  • Strong project management skills with attention to detail and execution discipline
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across seniority levels
  • Ability to work independently in a hands-on role within a fast-paced environment
  • Strong strategic thinking and advisory capabilities
  • Highly collaborative, organized, and meticulous
  • Demonstrates adaptability and a strong growth mindset
