Job's mission

As Global Director, Category Sourcing - Gas Delivery, you will shape and lead the global sourcing strategy for one of ASM's most critical and safety‑sensitive categories. Your work will directly influence manufacturing continuity, technology roadmaps, and long‑term operational resilience across our global footprint. Partnering closely with engineering, operations, EHS, and manufacturing, you will build strong supplier ecosystems that enable innovation, manage risk, and support ASM's growth strategy worldwide.

What you will be working on

• Define and execute the global category strategy for Gas Delivery, aligned with ASM's business priorities, technology roadmap, and manufacturing needs
• Own end‑to‑end supplier strategy, including supplier selection, qualification, governance, and long‑term partnership development
• Lead risk management and supply continuity planning for a mission‑critical, highly regulated category
• Drive cross‑functional collaboration with engineering, manufacturing, EHS, quality, and operations to ensure technical, safety, and regulatory requirements are embedded in sourcing decisions
• Deliver commercial excellence, including negotiations, contracting strategy, cost modeling, and total cost of ownership optimization
• Enable supplier innovation and early engagement, supporting next‑generation gas delivery and sub‑fab technologies
• Establish and maintain global standards, processes, and governance frameworks across regions
• Lead, coach, and develop senior sourcing professionals and build a high‑performing global team
• Act as a senior representative of ASM with strategic suppliers and external partners worldwide

What we are looking for

• Extensive experience in supply chain leadership
• Proven track record managing complex, safety‑critical and regulated categories
• Experience owning and executing global category strategies in a matrixed organization
• Strong commercial acumen, including contracting, negotiations, and cost management
• Demonstrated ability to partner effectively with engineering, manufacturing, operations, and EHS
• Confident influencing at senior levels and leading through collaboration
• Comfortable operating in a global, multicultural environment
• Fluency in English

What sets you apart

• Experience within the semiconductor industry or adjacent high‑tech manufacturing environments
• Deep familiarity with gas delivery systems, specialty or bulk gases, or sub‑fab infrastructure
• Strong background in supplier innovation, co‑development, and long‑term partnerships
• Experience leading global or regional teams
• Exposure to APAC manufacturing environments while owning global scope
• Advanced degree in engineering, supply chain, business, or a related discipline
