Manager Business Management (Operational Due Diligence / Operational Audit / Internal Controls– Real Estate)

A leading global investment institution is seeking a mid-level individual to join its Real Estate Business Management team on a contract basis. This role is ideal for professionals with a strong foundation in operational audit, due diligence, or risk management, particularly within REITs, private real estate funds, or real estate investment platforms.

You will play a key role in enhancing operational governance across a diverse portfolio of real estate investments, working closely with internal and external stakeholders to uphold high standards of process integrity, control, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct operational due diligence (ODD) reviews on external investment managers and operating partners, evaluating governance frameworks, internal controls, and operational capabilities.
• Coordinate the full ODD review cycle—from initiation and data gathering to issue tracking and final reporting.
• Maintain detailed and accurate records of ODD findings, remediation actions, and progress updates, ensuring risks are effectively monitored and addressed.
• Collaborate with internal teams (investment, operations, risk, compliance) to embed ODD insights into investment workflows and ongoing monitoring.
• Support the digitization and migration of historical ODD data and contribute to tech-driven process improvements.
• Participate in ad hoc initiatives or deep-dive reviews related to operational efficiency, internal controls, or governance enhancements.

Ideal Candidate Profile

• Degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or a related discipline.
• 5-8 years of relevant experience in operational audit, operational due diligence, internal control, or operational risk, preferably within real estate, REITs, or fund management.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to assess complex operational environments and identify process gaps or control weaknesses.
• Experience working with external fund managers, operating partners, or service providers in a due diligence or oversight capacity.
• Comfortable managing multiple priorities and stakeholders across different functions and regions.
• Strong communication, documentation, and project management skills.
• A proactive, detail-oriented, and collaborative working style.
