Cloudflare's Solutions Engineering (SE) organization works side-by-side with our Sales teams to guide customers through their digital transformation. SEs are trusted advisors who help prospects and customers connect Cloudflare's platform to real-world outcomes.
Digital Solution Engineers (DSE) are a specialized part of this team, engaging directly with mid-market and commercial customers. They deliver demonstrations, run discovery sessions, build technical alignment, and ensure customers understand how Cloudflare can solve their challenges at scale. The DSE team operates a digital-first, scalable engagement model, leveraging AI-assisted tools and workflows to extend technical coverage across the region and improve the quality and speed of pre-sales execution.
Impact on customers: You'll lead technical conversations with a wide range of organizations, from digital natives to established enterprises.
Breadth of technology: You'll cover Cloudflare's full platform Zero Trust, Application Security, Networking, and Developer Platform.
Ownership: You'll run demos, proof-of-concepts, and solution design sessions, building technical confidence throughout the sales cycle.
Collaboration: You'll work with Sales, Product, and Customer Success to shape deals and deliver long-term customer success.
Innovation: You'll contribute to building the next generation of pre-sales tools, workflows, and assets that scale the team's impact across APAC.
Lead technical discovery to uncover customer requirements and challenges.
Deliver compelling product demonstrations and presentations to technical and business audiences.
Own technical validation activities such as proof-of-concepts, RFP/RFI and solution design.
Translate complex technical features into clear business outcomes.
Develop solutions that showcase how Cloudflare's platform addresses customer needs.
Create and maintain demo assets, scripts, reference architectures, and AI-assisted workflows to scale team effectiveness.
Use AI tools and automation to improve the efficiency and quality of pre-sales engagement, including research, solution preparation, and technical documentation.
Stay current on Cloudflare products, Internet technologies, and competitive landscape.
4+ years in a technical presales, solutions engineering, consulting, or related role.
Strong knowledge of Internet fundamentals (HTTP/S, DNS, TLS, networking concepts, APIs).
Experience with Zero Trust frameworks, SASE architectures, or cloud security platforms.
Hands-on experience with scripting or development (Python, JavaScript, Go, Bash) and comfort using APIs/CLIs.
Proven ability to engage directly with customers running demos, whiteboarding solutions, and handling objections.
Strong communication skills able to influence technical and business stakeholders alike.
Ability to manage multiple customer opportunities in parallel and work cross-functionally with Sales and Product teams.
Comfort working with AI-assisted tools and automation to improve personal and team productivity in a fast-paced sales environment.
Prior experience with SaaS security, CDN, networking, or developer platform vendors.
Hands-on knowledge of cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP) and modern app architectures (serverless, containers, microservices).
Understanding of common application security risks (e.g., CSRF, XSS, SQLi) and mitigation strategies.
Experience with regulatory or compliance frameworks (SOC-2, PCI DSS, HIPAA, GDPR).
Track record of building reusable assets demo environments, reference architectures, or presales tooling.
Experience building or contributing to AI-assisted workflows, automation scripts, or productivity tooling for technical pre-sales teams.
