Role Description
The Commercial Litigation Lawyer / Arbitration Associate is responsible for handling commercial disputes, arbitration proceedings, and legal advisory matters related to corporate and business operations. This role focuses on litigation strategy, dispute resolution, contract-related conflicts, regulatory matters, and legal research while supporting clients or organizations in protecting their commercial interests and minimizing legal risks.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing commercial litigation cases, arbitration matters, and dispute resolution activities
- Drafting legal pleadings, arbitration submissions, contracts, legal opinions, and case documentation
- Conducting legal research, regulatory analysis, and case preparation for commercial disputes
- Representing clients or supporting senior counsel during negotiations, mediation, arbitration, and court proceedings
- Collaborating with corporate clients, business teams, external counsel, and regulatory authorities on legal matters
- Supporting contract dispute management, risk assessment, and commercial legal advisory activities
- Monitoring legal developments, arbitration rules, and regulatory updates affecting business operations
- Preparing litigation reports, case summaries, and strategic recommendations for management or clients
- Managing legal records, evidence documentation, and compliance-related legal processes
- Supporting settlement negotiations, legal strategy planning, and dispute mitigation initiatives
- Ensuring confidentiality, professional ethics, and compliance with legal practice standards
- Managing multiple legal matters, deadlines, and high-pressure case activities effectively
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Law or Legal Studies
- Qualified legal practitioner or admitted to the bar in relevant jurisdiction(s)
- 2–8 years of experience in commercial litigation, arbitration, dispute resolution, or corporate legal practice
- Strong understanding of commercial law, arbitration procedures, litigation strategy, and contract disputes
- Experience drafting legal submissions, managing legal documentation, and supporting dispute proceedings
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication, legal drafting, and stakeholder management abilities
- Ability to manage multiple legal cases and complex commercial matters effectively
- Strong attention to detail, confidentiality, and professional ethics mindset
- Experience in law firms, multinational corporations, financial institutions, construction, shipping, or commercial industries is an advantage
