Job Summary
The Digital Printing & Production Specialist is responsible for the setup, operation, and quality control of digital printing machines to ensure timely, accurate, and high-quality production of printed materials such as certificates, booklets, and other official documents. This role requires strong attention to detail, hands-on machine operation skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Machine Setup & Operations
- Prepare and operate digital printing and finishing machines according to job specifications and production schedules.
- Setup machines accurately for different job requirements, including certificates, booklets, and other print formats.
- Ensure correct paper type, alignment, layout, colour settings, and finishing options before production begins.
- Perform routine checks to ensure machines are functioning optimally throughout production.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of machines, tools, and the work area to ensure safe and efficient operations.
2. Quality Control & Assurance
- Conduct first piece inspections to ensure output meets job specifications, quality standards, and client requirements.
- Make necessary machine resets or fine adjustments if the first piece does not meet required standards.
- Continuously monitor print quality during production runs to detect defects such as misalignment, colour inconsistency, or print errors.
- Immediately rectify quality issues to minimise wastage and downtime.
3. Production Management & Workflow Support
- Operate machines at optimal speeds to meet daily production targets while maintaining quality standards.
- Coordinate with supervisors or team members to prioritise and sequence daily printing tasks effectively.
- Accurately record and report daily job tasks, production output, and any issues encountered during operations.
Requirements & Qualifications
Technical & Experience Requirements
- Prior experience operating digital copier/printing machines such as FUJI or CANON is an advantage.
- Familiarity with printing workflows, basic troubleshooting, and finishing processes is an advantage.
Skills & Competencies
- Ability to interpret job instructions, work orders, and production plans accurately.
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality and consistency.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Flexible and adaptable to changing daily task arrangements and production priorities.
- Good time management skills to meet tight deadlines.
Other Requirements
- Able to submit clear and accurate daily task and production reports.
- Able to start work immediately or at short notice will be an added advantage.
