Data Analytics Analyst – Digital Assurance
Data sits at the heart of every organization and is relied upon for all aspects of operations, analysis, decision-making, reporting, and regulatory requirements. Analytics is an exciting and thriving area at Deloitte. Our practitioners work with leading global, regional, and local clients where audit analytics makes the difference by providing actionable insights, bringing efficiency, and driving innovation. Our Analytics team operates as a multi-disciplinary team within the Audit & Assurance function, supporting clients across a range of industries.
You will contribute to the Audit & Assurance Analytics strategy for Deloitte Singapore, executing analytics projects that increase the quality, efficiency, and value of engagements. You will work across the full analytics lifecycle — from data extraction, transformation, and quality assurance through to insight generation and delivery via interactive dashboards. You will be responsible for the timely delivery of high-quality work, contribute to the development of new analytical procedures, and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
As you progress, you will identify opportunities for advisory work, develop value-adding proposals that position Deloitte as the clear choice, and demonstrate technical expertise through presentations and deliverable conceptualization — with guidance from senior team members.
What You'll Do:
- Extract, transform, and load data using Python and SQL, including cloud-based data platforms, to produce clean, reliable datasets ready for analysis.
- Build and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI or Tableau to communicate findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Perform data quality checks and reconciliations to verify completeness and accuracy of client datasets, applying critical thinking and a working knowledge of accounting and finance concepts.
- Manage a portfolio of analytics engagements, ensuring work is delivered on time, accurately, and in line with engagement requirements.
- Support teams with data extraction from client ERP and IT systems, providing guidance on best practices for structured and unstructured data sources.
- Explore, propose, and drive the development of analytics solutions — including automation pipelines and reusable analytics packages — to improve both team and client efficiency.
- Apply audit analytics methodologies and custom solutions to identify risk areas, anomalies, and weaknesses in internal controls across IT and financial systems.
- Contribute to planning and executing analytics solutions for identified risk areas in collaboration with audit teams.
- Assist in developing and delivering training to elevate analytics competencies across the broader audit function.
- Support the maintenance, enhancement, and documentation of the department's analytics and automation systems, including version-controlled codebases.
- Collaborate across teams and service lines to co-create solutions that surface anomalies and control deficiencies
- Support the exploration and development of AI-assisted analytics solutions, contributing ideas and technical execution under the guidance of senior team members.
What We're Looking For:
- Undergraduate degree, preferably in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, Accounting, or Cyber Risk, or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong proficiency in Python and SQL for data manipulation, automation, and analysis.
- Hands-on experience with relational databases; exposure to cloud data platforms is advantageous.
- Experience with data visualization tools — Power BI and Tableau
- Familiarity with AI tools and how they can be applied to enhance analytical workflows, accelerate insight generation, or improve the quality of outputs. Experience using AI in a professional or project setting is a plus.
- Able to handle data ambiguity and demonstrate structured problem-solving and critical thinking.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal), with the ability to work effectively in a team and maintain attention to detail.
- Curiosity and willingness to continuously adopt new tools and approaches, including emerging technologies that enhance how analytical work gets done.
