Responsibilities
Purpose of the role:
The Digital Artist creates high-quality 2D and 3D graphics and visual effects for drama and variety productions, working closely with producers and directors to translate creative concepts into compelling on-screen visuals. The role also collaborates with editors and colourists to ensure an efficient and seamless post-production process.
Scope Of The Role
The Digital Artist is responsible for creating high-quality 2D and 3D graphics, visual effects, and broadcast design elements, including titles and infographics, for media productions. The role manages creative projects from concept to delivery, ensuring visual quality, technical standards, and timelines are met.
It requires expertise across the full VFX production pipeline, collaboration with production teams, and occasional on-set VFX supervision to support post-production needs. The Digital Artist also leverages AI-powered image and video generation tools to enhance creativity, streamline workflows, and improve production efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Understand creative briefs and develop storyboard and suitable visual treatments.
- Design and animate high-quality motion graphics and broadcast graphics packages such as opening titles, lower thirds, transitions, infographics and other on-screen graphic elements.
- Support visual effects such as screen replacements, object removal, environment enhancement, compositing and other visual treatments, with on-set VFX supervision when required
- Collaborate well with directors, producers, editors and other creative team members to meet production deadlines.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Digital Media, Animation, Visual Effects, Graphic Design, or related disciplines.
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in motion graphics or broadcast graphics and visual effects.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating capabilities in 2D or 3D motion graphics and compositing or visual effects.
- Experience working in a broadcast, production house, post-production facility, agency or similar creative environments would be advantageous.
- Good understanding of production and post-production workflows.
- Proficiency in using Adobe Creative tools such as Adobe After Effects, Photoshop and Illustrator.
- Knowledge of 3D applications such as Blender.
- Ability to translate creative concepts and references into polished visual executions.
- Strong aesthetic sense, with a keen eye for composition, typography, colour, lighting, perspective, and visual storytelling.
- Competent in motion graphics, compositing, keying, tracking, rotoscoping and image enhancement.
- Familiarity with emerging generative AI and AI-assisted creative workflows would be an advantage.
