Dietetic Technician

For the Position of Diet Technician

The Dietetics Technician should be a team player with good interpersonal skills and able to take a proactive and enthusiastic approach in her work in healthcare. The Dietetics Technician will be a valuable partner in the area of clinical, community, quality improvement and foodservice.

1. Job Purpose

The Dietetic Technician is responsible for providing administrative support to the department and to assist dietitians in nutrition-related matters within the department and for various community-based projects.

2. Key Duties and Responsibilities

1. 1. Assist the Dietetics Department in administration matters and the delivery of quality patient care

1. 1. Assist in obtaining basic information (eg social, lifestyle) for patient management

1. 1. Provide support to the dietitians in coordinating internal / external departmental projects

1. 1. Assist in appointment booking for patients.

1. 1. Support dietitians and foodservices in menu development and nutrient analysis

1. 1. Participate in Quality Improvement Projects

2.7 Assist dietitians in community health programs in collaboration with a multi-disciplinary health care team and key stakeholders in the community

3. Job Specification/Requirements

1. 1. Diploma in Food Science & Nutrition/ Health Promotion (or similar)

1. 1. Excellent communication, analytical and interpersonal skills.

1. 1. Passionate in working in healthcare with the people and the community

1. 1. Good team player and ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team

1. 1. Ability to prepare basic, healthy meals
