Role Title and Designation: DGM HR
Purpose:
The role holder is responsible for overseeing all aspects of Human Resources (HR) and Employee Relations (ER)-practices and operations to meet the needs of the constantly evolving business. Facilitating change management initiatives and the required OD interventions, development of people programs and policies, creating an inclusive culture for enhancing employee productivity of a diverse and engaged workforce are key accountabilities of this role. In addition to HR, this role is also responsible for CSR, Communication, Administration Services.
This role will spearhead HRM initiatives across multicultural workforce (Singaporean, Indian, Japanese, Chinese & Malaysian) and will lead the international HRM needs of the organization. This role will also build the strategy as well as design the implementation wrt succession planning and leadership development for the organization.
As Digital HRM is essential for every organization, this role will also play an important part in building the technology roadmap for the organization incorporating all Human Capital Management needs.
The role will be taking care of the Direct and Indirect workforce - 50 and 150 respectively and will lead a team of 3-5 (in line with company's growth plan) Direct HR members.
Key Objective / Overall Job Responsibility:
Deployment of Strategic People Policies and Practises
a. Formulation of strategies that nurture and grow the employee talent pool in the Company.
b. Development of comprehensive strategic recruitment/rationalisation plans that meet the business's human capital needs as well as build the succession plan a
c. Develop strategies and execute leadership development plan.
d. Overseeing development and implementation of comprehensive compensation and benefit strategies that are cost effective for TNYK.
e. Functioning as the strategic business advisor to the MD for all matters pertaining to human resources.
f. Responsible to create a highly engaged and high-performance oriented culture.
g. Communicate the change management strategy and implementation plan for reporting structure changes, process redesign, HR technology changes, corporate branding, etc.
h. Ensure smooth integration of business units for providing synergy in business operations.
i. Innovate in talent management, engagement and retention strategy, to ensure relevance to the fast-paced environment of change.
Create and own a long-term talent agenda - considering the impact of various talent risks and business needs.
Manage Policy approvals
Risk & compliance reporting
Statutory & Regulatory Compliance (Singapore & India):
Overall ownership and governance of employment and labour law compliance across geographies, including Singapore Employment Act, MOM and Tripartite Guidelines, and applicable Indian labour laws and Labour Codes. Ensure compliance for direct and indirect workforce, manage statutory audits, inspections, filings, employee relations matters, and act as the primary interface with regulatory authorities.
Fostering harmonious Employee Relations
a. Working closely with global and multicultural employee base-implement fair and uniform work practices across TNYK that meet country specific regulatory requirement
b. Responsible for all annual and long-term wage and salary strategies and its execution
c. Work with cross cultural teams for management of a robust, fair and ethical employee representation system.
Fostering a Culture of Business Ethics
a. Drive the governance process to ensure a culture of Business Ethics is maintained across the organisation by formulating and implementing the annual ethics plan
b. Develop appropriate polices and conduct training and awareness campaigns
c. Lead any misconduct case investigations and advice leadership team according to the laid down guidelines/practices
d. Annual compliance reporting to promotor Group Companies
e. Conduct Ethics Survey for pulse check across employee and supplier segments
Personal Data Protection Officer
a. Ensure compliance to the relevant Data Privacy regulations in all geographies as Personal Data Protection Officer
b. Lead the team PDP team to ensure data protection risks are mitigated appropriately in all functions
c. Ensure appropriate reporting of all incidents of Data Breach to relevant stakeholders
CSR and Community Engagement
a. To plan initiatives for working towards the development of communities in the areas surrounding TNYK operating locations in Singapore, India and countries it operates in.
b. Identification of sustainable development solutions and partners.
c. Appropriate allocation of CSR budget.
d. Review of budget utilisation and implementation of plan.
e. Synergise TNYK CSR activities with Tata Steel, Tata Group and NYK CSR initiatives avoid duplications and create value creating and unique models with the promoter's larger framework.
Admin Services
a. Plan and monitor use of company's assets oversee management of travel, guest house and event management.
b. Provide administrative support to the business - estate management, relationship management/ liaison with stakeholders (Govt./Non-govt. agencies and opinion leaders).
Corporate communication
Oversee all corporate communication activities, including deployment of external and internal communications plan, content creation, branding, event management relations (where relevant) and media relations.
Board / HR Committee reporting
Educational qualifications:
Graduate with Post Graduate Degree/Diploma in Management or MBA with specialization in HRM/Personnel Mgmt/General Mgmt from reputed management institutes/ Business schools with global repute.
- Graduation/ PG in Engineering in any discipline
- Professional Qualification in Shipping & Logistics from global Shipping Institutes.
- Master's degree in Economics/ Science/ Commerce from a globally recognized university.
- C.A, CFA., or equivalent.
Relevant experience:
- 8-15 years of experience in HRM in an organization of a similar scale.
- Exposure to specialist role of HRM like Talent sourcing, Talent Development, PMS etc. preferred
Exposure to dealing with multi-cultural workforce
