Role
The DFIR Specialist will play a key role in managing and investigating cybersecurity incidents, from initial alert triage through to root cause analysis and closure. This position involves analysing logs, assessing threats and vulnerabilities, supporting forensic and incident management activities, and helping to refine incident response playbooks, detection rules, and automation workflows. The successful candidate will also contribute to reporting for stakeholders and stay current on emerging cyber threats, attacker tactics, techniques, and procedures.
Requirements
You should have at least three years of experience in DFIR or a similar cybersecurity role, along with hands-on exposure to incident investigations, alert handling, log review, and identifying root causes. You should possess a solid foundation in operating systems, networking, server environments, and core security principles. Familiarity with cloud platforms and containerised technologies would be an added advantage. Strong communication skills, a proactive attitude toward learning, and the ability to stay effective in high-pressure situations are essential, while certifications such as GCFE or GCFA would be viewed favourably.
